About building and construction tenders in Gauteng

Construction tenders come from national and provincial public works, municipalities, SOEs such as SANRAL, Transnet and Eskom, and private developers. Most require a CIDB grading that matches the contract value and class of works (GB, CE, ME and so on), plus CSD registration, tax compliance, a B-BBEE certificate and often a compulsory site briefing. Many contracts also set subcontracting targets for local SMMEs. Gauteng publishes more tenders than any other province: the provincial departments, the City of Johannesburg, City of Tshwane and Ekurhuleni metros, Sedibeng and West Rand municipalities, most national departments and SOEs headquartered in Pretoria and Johannesburg, and a large private sector. Opportunities span every sector, from construction and IT to professional services, security and cleaning.
